The Urban Mediamakers are proud to present international songstress Toni Redd with a star-studded band - Sean Michael Ray (Bass and Music Director), Bamm Davis - Keyboard, John Eley - Guitar, Quinton Robinson- Drums, and Baby Doll - Vocals. Opening for Toni Redd is talented Taranji Alvarado, singer and guitarist.

Songstress Toni Redd is an internationally known powerhouse performer and 
entertainer.  Though regarded as a smooth R&B singer, Redd is an intense vocalist 
whose style is infused with R&B, contemporary smooth jazz, and classical soul; 
these elements combined create her unique and distinct powerful ambience. 

Her vocals are sultry and emotional, from the heart is exactly where her vocals come from…A strong personality and interesting life experiences she shares these through her lyrics on a real  level.”Just Soul.  

Growing up in her native Atlanta, Georgia, Toni discovered a love for music.  As a child, Toni studied the guitar and developed an interest in singing.  She parlayed this interest into a dream that has afforded her the ability to perform and record internationally.  Toni has had the honor of performing and sharing concert billing with Najee, Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler, the Rippingtons, Pieces Of A Dream, Alex Bugnon, Angela Bofill, Rick Braun, Everette Harp, The Yellowjackets, 
Gerald Austin, Stanley Jordan, Brian Bromberg, Steve Cole, Fattburger, Chico 
Debarge, Pamela Williams, The Temptations, Warren Hill, Oleta Adams, The 
Stylistics, Walter Beasley, Steve Laury, Joe McBride, Marion Meadows, and Kim 
Waters. 

Toni is routinely featured at various jazz festivals including Maui Music Festival, and the Atlanta Jazz Festival, just to name a few.  She is also a gifted songwriter whose recording credits include her international debut CD  “Straight From the Heart”, and her newly-released sophomore project entitled, “N the Key of Redd”, both of which continue to receive rave reviews.  You can find Toni on Fattburger’s “Fattburger.com” and Bob Baldwin’s “New Urban Jazz.com” CDs.  She is an all-around performer and actress whose voice can be heard on National Commercial Jingles. 

Toni’s live performances mesmerize and captivate her audience with high intensity and erupting energy.  

About Taranji Alvarado

Singer and guitarist Taranji Alvarado will open for Toni Redd. Taranji, a Newark, New Jersey native, at a very young age was seduced by the symmetry, beauty, and passion of all Art forms. She gives thanks to Programs such as "Upward Bound" and "Head and Shoulders Above the Rest." These programs not only introduced Taranji to all kinds of art forms from dance, music, to film, and fashion, they opened a pure expression inside of her that inspired the creation of her own beautiful Art, Fashion and Music which has become away of life she trademarks "FEMTASTIK".  

FEMTASTIK promotes positive living and artisan.

Taranji started her musical career in the mid 90's with a rock band called Voodoo Einstein in Atlanta, Georgia. She developed her own style while working or performing with some of the industries hottest artist and producers such as Fishbone, Roy Ayers, P.A., Organized Noise, Naked Truth, Divinity, Anthony David, Slick, Fishbone, Algebra, India Arie, Joi, Peter Moreland, Jasper and the Prodical son, and G Love and the special sauce. Taranji was featured on the DOC's album "Helter Skelter" where she had a stand out performance. She also shows her writing skills on Dallas Austin's artist Joi, now classic album, "Star Kitty's Revenge." This great body of work led her to step out on her own and show the world her talent as a solo artist. The pop masterpiece, gracefully titled, "Femtastik" gave her the opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry's most respected producers such as Boysie Shorter, Ryan McDougal, Peter Moreland, Nick Savage, and Jeremy Thornton.

Taranji has and continues to perform in different venues, festivals, and events state side and abroad. A member of the Urban Mediamakers Association, Taranji's objective is to spread her passionate brand of love music and her Femtastik way of life to the whole world.

Urban Mediamakers Association



The mission of the Urban Mediamakers  Association is to promote and support a strong diverse independent media arts community in metro-Atlanta emphasizing the work of African, Asian and Latin descent creatives. Our goal is to be a main player in the continuous movement to attain diversity in media by providing individuals with assistance with development, production, post-production, financing and distribution of independent media -- animation, film, music, print, television and video.

A 501(c)(3), tax exempt, not-for-profit, charitable organization, the Urban Mediamakers Association brings talented and aspiring creative individuals together. Guided by past wisdom and reflecting the new generation of mediamaking, we are dedicated to thinking out of the traditional box. We depend on powers beyond ourselves to provide opportunities and open doors in all facets of our lives.

Through our Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs) program, we are partnering media professionals with youth ages 12-19 to encourage, inspire and educate them in all areas of media.
